DYN-OPTICS Model 955 Fire Finder II

The Model 955 Fire Finder II is a self-contained, hand-held, infrared sensor that emits an audible alarm when pointed at a heat source. The hotter the source, the higher the pitch of the alarm. The response time is instantaneous and no eye attention is required to read meters or interpret lights. The FIRE FINDER II has a built-in self-test that simulates an infrared source that causes the unit to respond by giving an audible alarm every time it is turned on. This feature assures the firefighter that the FIRE FINDER II is operational before entering a low-visibility, smoke-filled, fire environment.

The FIRE FINDER’S infrared heat sensor will detect a small hot spot that the firefighters’ eyes may miss, even through a glass window. The unit operates in full sunlight or in a dense, smoke-filled room.

The original Fire Finder was developed by Dyn-Optics in 1980 and has been upgraded on several occasions. The current compact and lightweight Fire Finder II Model 955 reflects the latest electronic state-of-the-art components. The Fire Finder II incorporates two new features: 1) the HELP WANTED ALARM activated by the firefighter and 2) a BATTERIES NEED CHANGING ALARM. In addition, the Fire Finder II Model 955 has been tested and certified intrinsically safe to be used in explosive environments, in conformity with MIL-STD-202F, method 109B.

Dyn-Optics has a patent on the Fire Finder. Any other device representing to be a Fire Finder or heat sensor may be counterfeit or infringe on the patent.
