Dyn-Optics Model 590 Optical Monitor utilizes a sophisticated linear photometric measuring technique to determine the reflectance or transmittance of coatings as they are being deposited onto a substrate in a vacuum coating chamber.
The reflectance is used to determine optical thickness which is an essential parameter for the design and production of optical coatings.
The monitor has a chopped halogen light source, solid state detectors, and amplifiers that are employed in the synchronously demodulated configuration for the maximum discrimination against spurious illumination or electronic noise. Therefore, the monitor can be operated in full room light or in fluctuating light levels (such as those which occur during electron beam deposition) without any loss of sensitivity or linearity and with negligible noise.
A cassette with narrow band filters or Model 330 Monochromator and
Wavelength Controller selects the wavelength of operation. In an optical coating system, light from the source is collimated and projected upward toward the substrate or a glass monitoring chip inside the vacuum chamber. The light is then reflected downward into the receiver and a number proportional to the reflectance or transmittance is displayed on the digital and analog meters. |
|
Dyn-Optics Optical Monitors have been used in major
optical coating facilities in the United States and worldwide for over two decades. They
have the reputation of being "the workhorse of the coating industry" with
a reliability chraracterized as "bullet proof". Call, write, FAX or email for additional technical information, specifications or price quotation. DYN-OPTICS |
